Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul's status vs. Cowboys looking dim

Giants defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul will miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery to fix a sports hernia this morning, according to multiple reports. Losing Jason Pierre-Paul for the next 6 weeks is a major concern. After injuring himself during the Giants' Week 13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pierre-Paul underwent a successful procedure to fix the damage on Wednesday.

Pierre-Paul signed a one-year deal with the Giants this offseason, essentially putting him on a prove-it contract. Up until leaving last Sunday's game, JPP had been on the field for 95.4% of the club's defensive snaps this season.

While this is a tremendous blow for the Giants, especially against the run, the team does have some talent stowed away at defensive end like always. No one can really do the things that he can do for us or for anybody, so it is going to be different things that might have to do. That would mean that Pierre-Paul's season is over unless the Giants advance deep into the playoffs. His star-power form has returned, something that did not always appear possible after his horrific July 4 fireworks accident in the summer of 2015, an incident that left him with 3 1/2 fingers on his right hand. He has 53 total tackles on the season with seven sacks and three forced fumbles.

Security increased after Los Angeles terror attack threat
The Universal City station has been listed as among the busiest in the network. "But the credibility still needs to be vetted". The FBI said that the threat was made on Monday morning and they reached out to the Los Angeles police department immediately.

Ed Orgeron will be LSU's Next Head Coach
Orgeron said the LSU head coaching job is the best in the country and it has always been his dream job. Gridiron Now reported earlier that Herman backed out of a "handshake deal" to take the Tigers job.

Jayalalithaa is no more
The Chief Minister's convoy has been put on standby and there was a huge deployment of police on the roads leading to Poes Garden. She was also one of the country's most polarising politicians, accused of being dictatorial and was even jailed for corruption.

The reality for both sides is that Pierre-Paul isn't returning until January, if he comes back to play at all this season.

The Giants' defense ranks 13th in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play going into Week 14. Pierre-Paul's injury comes with a primetime game against the Cowboys this week. Find our Giants coverage on Facebook.
