Russian investigators seek answers to envoy murder

The Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov speaks a gallery in Ankara Monday Dec. 19, 2016.

Andrei Karlov was shot multiple times while making a speech at the opening of a photo exhibit entitled, Russian Federation through the Eyes of Turks. The attack also left three people wounded.

Ambassador Andrei Karlov was shot dead by an off-duty policeman in front of stunned onlookers at a photo exhibition in Ankara this week.

The Kremlin said today it was too early to conclude who was behind the murder of Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov in Ankara, after Turkey's foreign minister put the blame on exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen.

After the shooting, the gunman yelled in Arabic, "Allahu akhbar" (God is great). "Do not forget Syria!". "Anyone who has a role in this oppression will die one by one".

While Russia has been instrumental in coordinating the evacuation of residents in Aleppo, it has also provided support to Bashar al-Assad's repressive regime. Both nations in recent days have worked on a plan to allow for evacuation of rebel neighborhoods.

The plane, which is expected to depart from Ankara Esenboga Airport on Tuesday afternoon, will take Karlov's body to Moscow after the accomplishment of procedures by Turkish and Russian authorities.

Oil rises on Goldman forecast, signs producers complying with cuts
Preliminary meetings between OPEC and several non-OPEC members have not shown any progress toward yielding a positive result. We can safely say that if there are no dramatic news, Brent oil will be around 54-56 Dollars per barrel by year-end.

State Department: Kerry 'Frustrated' With Outcome of US Policy in Syria
The pullout of militants from the Syrian city of Aleppo "is being completed", Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Wednesday. The rebels shelled government-held areas and tunneled underground, both to evade airstrikes and to carry out sneak attacks.

This allowed him to bypass a security check and bring his gun into the venue.

The revelation, if confirmed, will cause concern in Ankara that someone who plotted to kill a top foreign diplomat was so close to the Turkish leader.

"We are now in contact with Turkish authorities who are assuring us that a thorough, comprehensive investigation will be conducted".

Karlov's coffin was then moved to Moscow's main cathedral, where a service was held.

Much of Mr Karlov's career has been in North and South Korea. He was appointed ambassador to Turkey in 2013.

"We offer our condolences to the Russian people and government", said White House national security council spokesman Ned Price. The attack has dealt a fresh blow to Russia-Turkey relations, just as the two countries were warming up to each other following a straining of ties previous year caused by Turkey shooting down a Russian plane in Syria.
