Ford confirms new Ranger pickup, Bronco SUV

Ford says it will launch the Ranger midsize pickup truck back in the US market in 2019.

Ford said the pickup will serve both commuters and off-road explorers. There were no details given.

In a follow-up tweet Ford spokesman Mike Levine added a bit more context to Hinrichs' Ranger comments saying "The all-new Ford Ranger will be tailored to the needs of North American customers with unique front styling, engines and features".

But we got a very brief chance to speak with Hinrichs at the Ford display later that day.

What a new Bronco would look like isn't as clear as the prototype pictured here.

First off, this won't be the full-size 4x4 we all remember from the OJ chase.

The new truck will be a facelifted T6 [the current-gen offering sold in other markets].

So if you're looking for an idea of the Bronco's dimensions, the European Ranger would be a good place to start. It said a hybrid version of the truck is under development. The longest Ranger, the four-door Super Cab, has an overall length of 211.1 inches. What's more, it seems like Ford wants to do right by the iconic nameplates. Apparently, the Ford Bronco is not the only one that will be making a comeback as the Ranger will also return and it's coming ahead of the Bronco.

Well, if an anonymous Reddit user is to be trusted, we might have an idea.

Also exciting is that the series is being helmed by Jennie Snyder Urman, the executive producer of the excellent Jane The Virgin. The CW Network has confirmed that it's developing a new adaptation of the magical drama which originally ran from 1998 to 2006.

Conor McGregor challenged by former boxing champion
McGregor can be seen in the comical advertisement stating that he wants to become "pound-for-pound best jockey on the planet". The UFC should be very anxious that Hollywood executives fall in love with what NBC is doing with Conor.

USA blacklists Putin's close aide, 4 others for human rights abuses
The sanctions are not related to the election hacking allegations against Russian Federation , according to officials. The Obama administration has, till date, sanctioned 44 Russians under the Magnitsky Act .

Ford said the midsize Ranger, which hasn't been available in the United States since 2011, will go on sale in 2019.

I expect that we'll see the USA -bound Ranger at a major auto show sometime next winter.

Speaking to the Detroit Free Press about President-elect Donald Trump's criticism of Ford's production plans, UAW plant chairman Bill Johnson revealed the MI plant would be replacing the Focus and hybrid C-Max models with the Ranger and Bronco. We have done extensive market research and that size of truck will simply not be profitable.

The Bronco was discontinued 20 years ago.

It's safe to assume that Ford will probably drop an EcoBoost under the hood.

Giddy up! Ford has confirmed the worst-kept secret in the automotive industry: the Bronco is back. If so, it's a smart move.

Bringing back the Ranger is more a question of resuming production than starting something new.

Fiat Chrysler said Sunday it will invest $1 billion in two US factories to build three new Jeep vehicles, including a pickup truck.
