Ivanka Trump Confirms She's Leaving the Trump Organization and Her Fashion Label

Jared Kushner, (35), a property developer with a wide range of business interests, played a key role in the presidential campaign and his new White House job will cover both domestic and foreign policy.

Richard Briffault, a government ethics expert at Columbia Law School, disagreed, saying: "Given the fact that the president is specifically mentioned, you would think that someone that is working for the president would be covered" by the anti-nepotism law.

His daughter Ivanka Trump, who worked as an executive in the Trump Organization and now has ownership stakes in Trump assets "will have no further involvement with or management authority" in the family business, the lawyer said.

The attorney for the President-elect Donald Trump's son in law announced on Tuesday that Jared Kushner plans to step away from his businesses and divest of "many, many" of his assets, for his preparation to step on the formal role of senior adviser to Trump.

The move has been rumored since even before Trump won the election back in November.

One president, however, managed to get around the law since it was put in place: Bill Clinton, who appointed wife Hillary to lead his administration's health care reform strategy. How?

Dick Clark Productions fires back at Mariah Carey's camp's claims
I also firmly believe that Mariah Carey did not rehearse for 3 hours to sing 3 songs she sung for a million years. One of those who joined in the Twitter-bashing of Mimi before they knew the facts was Josh Groban.

Kushner intends to resign from the management positions he now holds, including as CEO of Kushner Companies, publisher of New York's Observer newspaper and positions with other organizations, and will divest from a "significant number" of his assets to comply with government ethics rules, his attorney Jamie Gorelick told CNN. After John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960, he chose his brother Robert as attorney general.

As he prepares to head into the White House, he will apparently relinquish his position of CEO of Kushner Companies together with the position of publisher of the New York Observer.

Kushner, the son of real estate developer and convicted felon Charles Kushner, bought the Observer for nearly $10 million when he was 25 and used the paper to gain influence in Manhattan's elite social circles.

"Mr. Trump's ill-advised course will precipitate scandal and corruption" Eisen said in an e-mail, arguing that when he assumes the presidency, Trump will be poised to violate a provision of the Constitution meant to prevent foreign governments from buying influence in the US government. Kushner will file a public financial disclosure form.

"Again, I don't have to do this", Trump said. By giving his sons and an employee control over the trust instead, Trump virtually guarantees that the buffer between himself and his business interests will be porous. A planned news conference in December on the topic was canceled.

Ivanka Trump is expected to help fill some of the ceremonial obligations of the first lady while Melania Trump remains in NY.
