Freezing Rain Advisory and icy conditions through the weekend

Freezing drizzle is expected to develop this morning and continue through Friday afternoon in the northeastern KCBD viewing area.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service say rain will soon mix with and then change over to freezing rain Friday evening.

The region that is expected to get the greatest ice accumulations, with widespread amounts of a half-inch or more, will span from northwestern Texas into western Oklahoma and northwestern Kansas.

"The freezing rain we had a couple of weeks ago is different than what we have now", Riggs said. "Temperatures, we're going to stay near or below freezing during that morning commute and I don't see it melting off anytime soon".
