YouTube Go is now available to download for Android

YouTube Go, which lets its users download videos for offline viewership, is available in beta from the Google Play store in the U.S. It's now available for you to try out. Currently, the app is officially available only in India, but Android Police has made the YouTube Go APK available for those want to test the app out before its official release. The app itself is not restricted, so that you can run it on your device even if you are not in a supported location.

Don't worry though, as there's now an easier way to download YouTube videos and enjoy them on the move thanks to Google's new YouTube Go app. Additionally, if an app handles personal or sensitive user data, for example in the case of fitness apps, then there are additional requirements listed in the policy. The app presents you with a short preview to help you decide whether you want to save the full video, and you can choose the resolution you'd prefer. This time around, YouTube is hoping to also emulate the same success by making a less consuming version of their app so it is accessed more widely by a large number of audiences who are unable to connect to their service. It's also an extension to the download feature YouTube introduced to its primary app for offline viewing in 2014. Google does not mention how that is done, but the most likely scenario is that it is using another data transfer option for those videos and not mobile data. Sharing the videos is one of the other major features where you won't be using data while sharing your videos with friends nearby.
