Sonos price rises are on the way

In a note about the local pricing change on its website, Sonos writes: "Our prices are defined regionally".

The company announced on Monday that some products will see their prices increase by as much as 25 per cent because the value of the pound has plummeted since Brits voted to leave the European Union in June a year ago. "In the United Kingdom, this includes local taxation and import duties, but we pay for everything we make in USA dollars", the firm said in a statement.

"Over recent months, there has been a significant change on the USA dollar to GBP [GB pounds] exchange rate".

Home sound system manufacturer Sonos has become the latest technology company to announce significant price rises for British customers in the wake of the European Union referendum vote.
