SmackDown Recap: WWE Title Triple Threat Match

SmackDown Recap: WWE Title Triple Threat Match

WWE Championship (Elimination Chamber) - John Cena (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose vs. As expected, the main event was awesome with Bray picking up the massive win.

Corbin challenging Ambrose for the Intercontinental title seems like the next step. Cena is also surely going to invoke his rematch clause for the WWE championship against Wyatt. SmackDown Live has the storylines set for the road to WrestleMania 33 and its all shaping up nicely.

Rotunda defeated former champion John Cena, AJ Styles, The Miz, Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin in an Elimination Chamber match to capture WWE's most prestigious title.

The WrestleMania 33 card appears to be falling into place, especially after Elimination Chamber Sunday night. Becky Lynch and Mickie James was bad, and Kalisto and Apollo Crews beating Dolph Ziggler in a 2-on-1 handicap match was one that you could miss in it's entirety. Hell, for the first time in a while the Kickoff Show match felt like an actual pre-show match and not a match that made us say "Oh, it's a shame this is on the Kickoff Show".

Naomi celebrates her SmackDown Women's Championship victory, but apparently she suffered an injury during the match. The tag title match tonight was Alpha retaining in a "tag team turmoil" match that amounted to them beating every other team in the division in two-minute matches with no heat. The Usos vs. The Ascension vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. Breezango vs. I gotta watch Smackdown more often. But what about that moment, about five minutes before the big Wyatt win, when Bray pinned Cena and took him out of the match? He was in a 2-on-1 handicap match against Apollo Crews and Kalisto, where Ziggler took the loss, After the match, Ziggler got his heat back by attacking Kalisto and then taking out Crews with a chair attack on Crews' ankle. The Miz didn't really do much of anything and got eliminated quite quickly even though he entered last.

Bliss interrupted Naomi to deliver an ultimatum - that the champion had a week to prepare for their rematch or she would simply beat the Florida-born star down and take back her title.

We asked for it, and we got it.

The former Magic Dance definitely deserved it, putting on a great show and becoming a worthy champion!

No one feels sorry for Charlotte, of course, but the WWE superstars and bosses were down with the idea of a new queen. The best part of which was that he'd done it all by himself. The "You Deserve It!" chant from the crowd was really touching as Naomi now gets to head into her hometown WrestleMania, and that giant promotional engine, as champ.

The Rock will reportedly have a role in the movie.
