Fiancee of ex-NFL star testifies in his double-murder trial

The fiancee of National Football League star Aaron Hernandez claims she never pressed him about his friend being shot because she'd "learned to keep my mouth shut" as she testified in his double murder trial.

The couple has a 4-year-old daughter.

Last week, Hernandez's lawyer, Jose Baez, questioned Bradley about a deleted text message that he sent to his attorney, Robert Pickering, in 2013, saying, "Now you sure once I withdraw this lawsuit I won't be held on perjury after I tell the truth about me not recalling anything about who shot me?"

Hernandez, formerly a New England Patriots tight end, is facing double murder charges for the 2012 slaying of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado outside of Cure lounge, a Boston nightclub.

Prosecutors began the day by questioning Jenkins-Hernandez on her long history with Hernandez.

Thompson said he met Hernandez's former best friend, Alexander Bradley, on at least two occasions during that time period, but did not have any close interaction with him.

Of that week in Florida when Hernandez allegedly shot Bradley in order to silence him, Thompson did not have much to say at all. While Thompson has the right to be friends with whoever he chooses, his relationship with Hernandez calls his character and off-field decision-making into question.

Hernandez-Jenkins concluded her testimony just before noon. Haag's investigation of the physical evidence "shows a minimum of five shots being fired".

Thompson, 28, played with Hernandez at the University of Florida and said the two were like brothers.

In the days after the party, Thompson said he went to Miami "every night", and Hernandez was one of the people who often went with him.

Prosecutors will likely rest their case against accused double-murderer Aaron Hernandez tomorrow, Suffolk Superior Court Judge Jeffrey A. Locke told jurors.

Hernandez's defense contends that Bradley was the gunman who shot and killed de Abreu and Furtado during a drug deal gone bad.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating Jenkins' sister.
