The Market Square Tower, located in downtown Houston, houses the tallest clear, cantilevered pool in the country.

Swimmers can step out onto the glass platform and soak up the exciting (or stomach-churning) view below.

As Travel + Leisure reports, the glass-bottomed pool became the highest in the state when it opened in October 2016.

The pool is restricted to high-rise residents, with leases on one-bedroom apartments starting at $2100 a month.

A new swimming pool constructed on top of a Texas apartment complex allows fearless swimmers to gaze down at the pavement 500ft below as they do their lengths. A recent video of a man walking on a swimming pool which hangs 40 feet above the air is doing the rounds on social media.

The transparent part of the pool is 20 centimeters thick and 3 meters wide.

What looks like a regular pool quickly turns into a thrill ride. Rents vary between $2,400 a month for a studio and $25,000 for a penthouse.
