Von Miller: Myles Garrett should be top pick in 2017 NFL Draft

Being the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft comes with millions of dollars and entrance into an elite club of men once regarded as the top football prospect in the world.

Quarterbacks get a lot of love as the "GOAT", but the difference between Jerry Rice's numbers and that of any other wide receiver is so great that there is an argument to be made he's the greatest regardless of position.

Now the Browns could draft a quarterback in the third or forth round or beyond like Cal's Davis Webb or Pittsburgh's Nathan Peterman. Garrett is still expected to be the Cleveland Browns' choice with the No. 1 pick, which would make him the first player from Arlington and Tarrant County to hold that distinction.

Although Buffalo won't end up with Garrett, Bills fans will also be happy to hear who the pass-rusher wants to sack the most. But the Browns, who acquired QB Brock Osweiler in a trade with the Texans last month, still don't have a long-term answer at quarterback and may look to trade their top pick for additional picks later in the draft. Garrett is a much bigger athlete than Miller, though, and a more apt comparison, given the tall frame and long arms, is DeMarcus Ware. He certainly had ups and downs, but most quarterbacks do.

But it was actually quite a fascinating interview.

Kushner and Bannon attempt to smooth things over
One is family, the other isn't, and Kushner has nearly certainly invested more of his "brand" in Trump than Bannon has. The White House again has claimed there's nothing to see here, denying the office ever existed.

Mary Kay Cabot also recently wrote the following for Cleveland.com, regarding a report that the Browns were also considering Leonard Fournette with the top pick: "I'm sure they like Fournette, but I doubt they're strongly considering him at No. 1".

The opportunity cost of drafting Garrett and passing on a franchise quarterback is pretty huge. "I think they're pretty set on Myles Garrett at No. 1, but are still kicking around the notion of taking Mitch Trubisky there".

In an interview with ESPN, Garrett said that he started studying game tapes of some of the greatest National Football League pass-rushers of all-time. That's the best-case scenario, but it's hardly guaranteed.

Trubisky is a fine prospect with good accuracy in the face of pressure, but he has only played 13 games in college. But it's far from a win-win situation either.
