Meanwhile, a graphic video purportedly depicting the dead bodies was sent Thursday to the girlfriend of a missing teenager; his family said the video showed their son to be among the bodies.

Police have not commented on the alleged phone call.

Family members have identified two more of the bodies found in a Central Islip park earlier this week. He said they suffered "significant trauma throughout".

'There's no question MS-13 still exists in Suffolk County, ' Sini said Thursday at a press conference.

"Although we have not ruled out any possibilities at this point", he added. The girls were attacked with a machete and baseball bats as they walked through the neighbouring town of Brentwood in September.

Police said the killings look like the work of MS-13.

The victims have been tentatively identified, but their names had not been released as of Friday morning.

"I'm looking for my son", his father Marcelo Llivicura told NBC News. They said detectives informed them that police were investigating whether Llivicura was among the dead. He just told me, 'quick your brother was there. "I think they set a trap for him".

National Football League looking into arm wrestling contest
It will probably test the league's policy on gambling, but it's also casting an interesting light on the current setup in Vegas. A few years ago, the National Football League would have never dreamed of putting franchise in the gambling capital of the USA.

William Tigre told reporters near the scene that an acquaintance told him Wednesday night that his 18-year-old brother, Jorge, was among those killed. Police have not revealed when they believe the men were murdered but did say it appears the murders occurred within the past few days. Crime Stoppers is offering a fast cash reward of $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

FBI spokeswoman Amy Thoreson said the FBI's Long Island Gang Task Force is working with Suffolk police on the investigation.

The discovery comes six weeks after more than a half-dozen members of MS-13 - the violent street gang with ties to El Salvador - were charged in the killings of Brentwood teens Kayla Cuevas, 16, and Nisa Mickens, 15, and an MS-13 member, Jose Peña-Hernandez, 18, officials said.

Prosecutors said Kayla Cuevas, 16, was targeted last summer by a group of four gang members, including two juveniles, because she had been feuding with MS-13 members at school and on social media. MS-13 members are suspected in all of the deaths.

She said Villalobos and Banegas were not gang members themselves, and said the attack may have been directed at someone else.

The victims were found Wednesday night in a wooded area near a recreation center in Central Islip (EYE'-slihp).

"It's all hands on deck until we solve these murders", Sini said. "But this is a long-term war".
