Here's What Audeince Has To Say About Vidya Balan Starrer Begum Jaan

Begum Jaan movie First / 1st Day Collections: Actress Vidya Balan's most awaited film "Begum Jaan" hitted worldwide screens on Friday, April 14th.

Vidya Balan starrer Begum Jaan, written and directed by National award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji, has been banned in Pakistan. Begum Janna is the story of eleven women who refuse to part ways with their brothel and each other during the partition between India and Pakistan. However, recently an issue is being circulating about Mahesh Butt's movie Begum Jaan that it will not be released in Pakistan. "At the back of my mind I thought I would not get the film", Chunky told PTI.

"I have old ties with Srijit". But, apart from a bunch of bold but yet non-sexual scenes and a bagful of hard hitting lines, Begum Jaan disappoints us thoroughly. Balan in an earlier interview with a leading daily denied the reports about the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asking for cuts from the flick.

If you haven't already watched the film, you must read the following reviews before making up your mind for "Begum Jaan". Begum Jaan is one of her great performances, no doubt, and she delivers it knock-out, especially in her scenes with Naseeruddin Shah, as the king, . Pandey as a cold-blooded contract killer will remain in your memory for some time. It shies away from delving deep into the theme, but you may appreciate its documentary-like feel.

Russian Federation relations may be at 'all-time low'
Lavrov says Russian Federation has lots of questions about the "very ambiguous" and "contradictory" ideas coming from the U.S. Moscow has stood by Assad, saying the poison gas belonged to rebels, an explanation Washington dismisses as beyond credible.

Grand National hero at his Sunday best
The last amateur to ride the victor of the world's most famous steeplechase was Marcus Armytage aboard Mr Frisk in 1990. Over the final few fences, the horse had battled with Cause Of Causes - the 16-1 prospect finished second.

Government: 36 Islamic State fighters killed by massive bomb
The group has established a small stronghold in eastern Afghanistan and launched deadly attacks on the capital, Kabul . On Friday, the village was swarming with Afghan and global troops, as helicopters and other aircraft flew overhead.

The motion picture features Begum Jaan (Vidya Balan) who makes a living by running a brothel home with 11 women and two men. There's a world of difference between that delightfully poignant classic film and this trying so hard to be deep and meaningful mish mash of a film. No wonder even perfectly fine actors end up overdoing things. Vidya Balan who always loves to do challenging roles did the character of a brothel lady in the movie. But why blame them alone when the whole film itself is so patently manufactured? Both are classics in their own right and had some power-packed performances by Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil.

In its preoccupation with drama, Begum Jaan neglects to reveal its soul.

Since Begum Jaan comes so close on the heels of another very powerful film about an assertive woman, Anarkali Arrahwali, this hurts all the more.
