NES Classic Stock Pops Up at Walmart Stores

NES Classic Stock Pops Up at Walmart Stores

That's according to Eurogamer, which has word from a source close to Nintendo that a miniature version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System is planned for release this Christmas.

In a statement issued by Nintendo, the company confirms that NES Classic Edition will no longer be manufactured, and that update will be posted on their official website when production resumes in the future, My Nintendo News reported. Which probably means that the SNES Classic Mini, if that's what it ends up being called, will be harder to find than its NES counterpart.

Eurogamer, though, hopes that Nintendo has learned its lesson with the NES Mini and come out this time with enough stocks to avoid the same mistake. It was a tiny Nintendo with original controllers, 30 preloaded games, and an original controller.

Carrie Fisher Will *Not* Be in 'Star Wars: Episode IX' After All
Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, who played a smaller role in the last episode, plays a significant part in this trailer. Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th in the United States and just about everywhere else.

Nintendo fans who didn't score a NES Classic a year ago may have a second shot at getting their hands on another beloved retro gadget. However, most may have forgotten that the resurrection of the famed 1986 game console was expected to be done on a limited basis. And this time around, the Japanese company may want to factor in some numbers and produce larger volumes of the game console to avoid supply shortages. For the SNES Mini, though, we'd love to be able to plug in our still-working AsciiPad or hook up the ridiculously large Super Advantage joystick to a new, HDMI-equipped system. Are you excited at the possibility of a SNES Classic?

The price and the included games are still not known and Nintendo has not confirmed anything.

According to IGN, a representative from Nintendo has stated that the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year in NOA territories will be delivered throughout this month. Hey, we've seen the two talk before - how else do you think Minecraft is making its way to the Nintendo Switch?
