Philly set to welcome NFL draft in grand way

As exciting as that trade was previous year, we probably won't see a similar one when the 2017 draft gets started April 27. Kiper had the first pick, and they alternated from there through pick 107. They have a projected foursome at wide receiver (Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Jordan Matthews, and Nelson Agholor) that has a chance to be very good. With Brown and Miller, Bears have pass catchers but Engram was first team All-SEC, ahead of Howard.

This is pretty amusing, especially with McShay's full-on trolling of no first-round QBs (Kiper's one is a little more believable, particularly considering that this is in a draft just of what he would do, not what GMs will necessarily do).

Raptor's Take: Well, the Kittle Klub (yeah, I just named you - you're welcome!) will be happy about this pick, and I don't blame them. And they could use another edge rusher, or a strongside linebacker, or a cornerback.

Russian Federation vetoes United Nations resolution on Syria chemical attack
He said that over time as more evidence is collated, the threshold necessary to charge Mr Assad with war crimes may be reached. Syria has denied any responsibility for the assault which killed at least 87 people, many of them children.

Additional officers placed on leave over United passenger removal
As The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, reported Monday, airline passengers were told that the flight was overbooked. The flight was loaded and preparing to leave Chicago's O'Hare International Airport on Sunday when the man was dragged off.

Justice Department Warns 'Sanctuary Cities,' With Grant Money At Risk
Donald Trump's Justice Department on Friday ratcheted up the pressure on Chicago and other so-called sanctuary cities. That means it will hold people for an extra 48 hours, long enough to be arrested by immigration authorities.

Sure, there will be teams looking to trade down in the draft, particularly at the top. Teez Tabor turned in a bad combine and pro day that left teams with serious concerns about his long speed. "He isn't a burner, running a 4.62 40 at the combine, but he's a playmaker who is one of the most NFL-ready wideouts in this draft". Couple that with his mediocre height, short arms, and small hands, and scouts are questioning if he has the physical tools to play in the NFL. Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara could be available into Day 2.

We've seen Ingram mocked to the Jaguars in the second round before as well, so this isn't too surprising.

While teams try not to draft for need in the first or even second round, understanding where a roster's weaknesses are can help identify potential targets in the early rounds. But if Ward stays at corner, they'll have to find a safety that can play deep like Earl Thomas in the new single-high scheme. One of the main rationales is because of the club's newly-re-hired assistant coach Lance Murphy, who is the running back's coach at Stanford University for the past three years. Before tearing his Achilles tendon, Jones was easily a top three cornerback prospect in this draft, probably number two behind Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore, a surefire top five pick.
