Hernandez family planning private funeral in Connecticut

Law enforcement sources told Newsweek that the man was placed on "24/7 suicide watch" shortly after Hernandez's death. Hernandez's argument arises from the notion that he earned the payments, and that the Patriots cut him immediately after he was arrested for killing Odin Lloyd, instead of waiting for the league to suspend him. Multiple law enforcement sources have confirmed that Lloyd knew about Hernandez's sexuality, with The New York Daily News positing from Newsweek reports that this could have been a factor in Lloyd's murder.

He was a beat writer for the Patriots when New England selected Hernandez in the 2010 draft.

Aaron Hernandez's family is planning a private funeral for the former National Football League star in his CT hometown.

Hernandez was found early Wednesday morning hung in his jail cell at Souza Correctional Center in MA, where he was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. He also wrote notes to his fiancee and his daughter.

This comes just a day after it was revealed that the former Patriot's star may have killed Odin Lloyd in order to keep secret the fact that he was bisexual, according to a report which appeared Friday in Newsweek.

Malcolm Butler signs tender with Pats; can now be traded
As Doug Kyed of NESN noted, no offer sheet has been made, and the transaction allows the team to discuss trades. It wasn't necessarily too big of a surprise, but in no way does that mean Butler will remain with the Patriots.

Blazers big man Nurkic upgraded to 'doubtful'
The chance to steal a game on the road is pivotal to lower seeds-let alone being the eighth seed. The Warriors have a 2-0 lead in the series, which shifts to Portland on Saturday night.

At the time of his death, Lloyd, 27, was dating Shaneah Jenkins, the sister of Aaron Hernandez's fiancee. If the purportedly romantic relationship was a motive for Lloyd's murder, it is unclear why this was not reported until after Hernandez's death.

This circle of three is apparently mirrored in the suicide notes he left behind, alongside a Bible opened to John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life". Five years later, he was connected to a shooting in Boston that left two men dead, but was found not guilty of that crime five days before he committed suicide.

He also marked his hands and feet with red ink to imitate Christ's wounds during crucifixion.

Wallace is serving a prison sentence for helping Hernandez cover up the murder of Lloyd.
