Cop Suffers Accidental OD in Fentanyl Drug Bust

Police said the suspects initially told them the white powder was cocaine, but when it tested negative for that drug, the pair revealed it was actually a risky opioid known as fentanyl.

Police observed 25-year-old Justin Buckle perform what they believed to be a drug transaction from behind the wheel of his Monte Carlo, prompting the police to make the move of blocking his vehicle in.

The drivers tried to get rid of the evidence, but left white powder all over the auto.

East Liverpool patrolman Chris Green was back at the station an hour after making the arrest when a colleague pointed out he had some white powder on his shirt.

Officer Christopher Green said he wanted to get back to work as soon as possible following the incident when he came in contact with fentanyl.

Within minutes of returning to the police station, Green began to feel the affects of an opioid overdose.

Wright told the station Green was "fine" as of Sunday. They administered Narcan and transported Green to the hospital where three additional doses were given to revive him. A sensational California murder case also hinged on the use of fentanyl: Kristin Rossum, a 24-year-old toxicologist with the San Diego County medical examiner's office, was convicted of using the drug to kill her husband in November 2000. "I started falling backwards to the door". Green later overdosed on fentanyl. Authorities blocked the auto in, so that Buckle and his passenger, 24-year-old Cortez Collins, could not flee the scene. In the midst of arresting two people, a little bit of Fentanyl or Carfentanil got on his uniform.

Titles more important than top four to Manchester United, says Mourinho
Once again, he cited the complications of a lengthy injury list coinciding with a devilishly tough run of Premier League fixtures. Mourinho's side will secure qualification for next season's Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.

The drug epidemic sweeping our state is now threatening our police officers and first responders. "They had to give him a few more doses and they were able to save his life", said Chief Lane.

Officer Green used the correct precautions while searching the vehicle.

"We double bag all our evidence because of the threat of Fentanyl and Carfentanyl", Wright said.

"I was in total shock", Green told the Morning Journal of Lisbon, Ohio.

Fentanyl is pain killer that's about 100 times more potent than morphine, Hoyt said. Officers found the suspects trying to destroy the drug evidence.

Wright also noted that due to the extent of the drug crisis in this country, police departments have been forced to make changes in their protocol. Sixty people died from heroin or fentanyl overdoses in February in Cuyahoga County alone. "I don't know if it went through my skin or if it became airborne when I wiped it off, or a combination of both".
