The Metropolitan Police relayed reports of a suspect or suspects subsequently stabbing people at nearby Borough Market, confirming armed officers responded and shots were fired.

Armed police are at the scene of the apparent attack, along with helicopters and ambulances.

Police also said they were responding to another incident in the Vauxhall area, more than three kilometres away.

The Metropolitan Police force declared the attacks "terrorist incidents". They just went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people, ' he said.

"I can confirm that the bad incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism", Prime Minister Theresa May said in a statement.

After ramming the auto into a barrier outside the Houses of Parliament, the driver, 52-year-old Khalid Masood, got out and stabbed a police officer to death before being gunned down by responding officers.
