Wonder Woman - DC finally get it right

Wonder Woman may have only just opened in cinemas, but Amazon has already added its listing for the upcoming Collector's Edition Blu-ray release of the DC blockbuster, which includes the movie alongside a limited edition figurine of Gal Gadot's Amazon Princess. But for the writer, the pivotal moment for her was when Wonder Woman's thigh jiggles on screen.

Liz Franklin, a Methuen native who has since relocated to OH and was back in town visiting family, said Wonder Woman is the first superhero movie she's allowed her 11-year-old daughter Elena to watch, "because it's Wonder Woman".

As "Wonder Woman" continues to make box-office history, rumors about its supposed sequel continue to circulate online.

"Given how deeply we've dug the depths of comic book heroes, the fact that it's summer of 2017 before we see Wonder Woman get the big motion picture treatment is really kind of astounding to me", said Robert Thompson, professor of popular culture at Syracuse University.

Frankly, I was loath to see the movie shift from the idyllic island of Themyscira, with its invisible shroud of protection and robust tribe of Amazons, to the dank, dark streets of London; however, once Diana rescues the downed World War I pilot, and the Amazons vanquish the Germans chasing him, her objective is clear. She gave us a story that will keep you interested, characters that you will enjoy to watch on their journey and impressive visuals and action sequences. We hope she goes on to reinterpret many, many more of our favorite female superheroes.

A week later, "Wonder Woman" is still the talk of the town when it comes to movies.

Not only will "Wonder Woman" hold on to the top spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated $57.2 million, it's also bringing in a holdover total higher than its DC predecessors, "Batman v Superman" and "Suicide Squad". "One who is self-confident is not afraid of movies - even if it's "Wonder Woman" standing before him", he wrote.

"We replaced that one scene with a reshot scene, and we didn't change the order of a single scene", Jenkins said. A chance encounter with British spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) helps her find her destiny; she visits London during the First World War to help the Good Guys (Allied Forces) against the Bad Guys (read the Germans). The fight sequence between Ares and Wonder Woman at the climax is also a drag and loses its appeal after a few minutes.
