MI native one of victims of congressional shooting

I've worked with Matt several issues over the years and he's a good guy.

A Wednesday morning shooting at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, left five people wounded, including lobbyist Matt Mika. He was taken to a local hospital and is now listed in critical condition following surgery. "Baseball is one of his great passions", Mika's family said in the statement, "and he has always loved the Congressional team". His family released a statement Thursday saying he suffered "massive trauma", needs breathing assistance and will need more surgery.

Mika, an Oakland County native, now works as the director of government relations at Tyson Foods in Washington.

Tyson Foods confirmed that Mika, director of government relations in the company's Washington, D.C., office, was injured and taken to a local hospital.

"Matt Mika, one of the guys who helps us, is here at the hospital", Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Tex.) told the Washington Post. The family says that Mika has been alert, conscious, and has been able to communicate through notes. He's an Oakland County native and graduate of Adrian College.
