Key Indian equity indices trade flat during early session

The Sensex was down by 13.89 points or 0.04 per cent at the Wednesday's closing.

The 30-share pack, which opened at 31,352 against the previous close of 31,290, witnessed a 255-point swing in intraday trade.

The 30-share Sensex rose over 75 points in morning trade and shot up to 31,365.39, but quickly lost momentum to hit the day's low of 31,110.39. But soon, it headed down and settled with a marginal rise of 7.10 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 31,290.74. It swung 267.24 points during the session.

The 50-share NSE Nifty too gained 46.30 points, or 0.48 per cent, at 9,679.90.

The Indian market dipped on Friday with the BSE Sensex down 152.53 points at 31,138.21 and the NSE Nifty down 55.05 points at 9,574.95, largely due to profit booking ahead of the long weekend, according to media reports.
