Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew dead at 53

2 Live Crew co-founder Christopher Wong Won has died, according to a tweet from former group member Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell.

Wong Won was known by his hip-hop alias, "Fresh Kid Ice", with the Miami-based group 2 Live Crew.

Rapper Fresh Kid Ice has died aged 53 in a Miami hospital, it has been reported. Famously, the group's 1989 album As Nasty As They Wanna Be became the first album to be declared legally obscene by a court. After migrating to Brooklyn from Trinidad and Tobago, he formed 2 Live Crew in the early '80s.

They later hooked up with Luther Campbell and signed to his record label. In 1990 a federal court ruled that it was "obscene" and made it illegal for record stores in southern Florida to sell the album. The group's last record, The Real One, was released in 1998.
