The noisy protests continued in Lok Sabha, after which the Speaker adjourned the House till 3 pm.

Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, Kharge claimed that such an incident never took place under former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, who, he said, never lost her cool amid the "usual" turbulence which the Lower House often faced.

While Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge spoke on the issue as Zero Hour started, Opposition members trooped near the Speaker's podium as a discussion was not allowed and kept raising "anti-government slogans" and threw torn bits of paper, irking the chair.

Azad, the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said, "It is a normal practice for members to demand that they be allowed to speak whenever they are not allowed to do so".

The lawmakers, G Gogoi, K Suresh, Adhiranjan Chowdhary, Ranjeet Ranjan, Sushmita Dev and MK Raghavan, were protesting the issue of the lynching of minorities by cow vigilantes.

Shortly after she suspended six Congress MPs from the House for their "highly unbecoming" conduct, Ms Mahajan, outside the House, said, "I am sad and deeply hurt".

They did not stop despite her repeated requests to them to return to their seats and instead, indulged in the improper conduct, she said, while adjourning the House till 2.30 PM.

It has also resented the failure of the Lok Sabha Speaker to initiate any action against senior BJP MP Anurag Thakur, who resorted to video recording of the Lok Sabha proceedings, going against the set rules.

The Congress on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the issue of suspension of its party leaders in the Parliament and said that the Centre has been trying to restrict freedom of speech of the opposition.

This led Mahajan to warn the members that if any one of the officials or the Secretary General are harmed by mistake, then consequences would not be good. And upholding this democratic tradition, six Congress MPs have invited the wrath of the LS Speaker.
